Tinguely Gastronomie

A butcher's shop in the Jura sells by the kilo online, on PrestaShop 9.

A Jura butcher's shop moved to PrestaShop 9: sale by weight, in-store pickup, PDF price list, then a series of audits to fix at the source what was blocking orders and search ranking.

The context

A local-produce butcher's shop, an online counter.

Tinguely Gastronomie is a butcher's shop in Bassecourt, in the Jura, founded in 1999 and run by Mr. Tinguely and his daughter. Meats, cured meats, game, catering, grill and fondue boxes: a large part of the range is sold by weight.

The new shop had to allow customers to order online and pick up in store, with a price accurate to the gram, on a PrestaShop 9 base and the Panda theme.

Products sold by the kilo

A price that must follow the chosen weight, with no combination entered by hand.

In-store pickup

An online order paid for on the spot, at pickup.

An up-to-date price list

The catalogue to print or to send to trade customers.

Getting found

SEO, accessibility and display speed.

What was delivered

A butcher's shop, made to measure.

A staging environment first, then go-live and follow-up through successive audits.

PrestaShop 9 shop

Deployed to staging with the Panda theme, then switched over to tinguely-gastronomie.ch. Design by SwissGeek.

Sales by weight

With SGKUnityProd, the customer enters the desired weight in kilos, limited to between 0.05 and 50 kg, and the price is calculated instantly.

Pay in store

Order online, pay at pickup: the SwissGeek payment method dedicated to Click & Collect.

Price list in PDF

Catalogue and prices generated as a PDF from the shop with SGKCATAPRICE.

Performance and fixes

Homepage HTML compressed, image URL rewriting restored and domain corrected in the database.

Checkout process verified

In-store payment restored in the checkout, then a test order placed from start to finish.

The method

Prepare on the side, audit, fix.

The shop first lived in staging, then each audit pass produced its list of fixes.

Step 1

Staging

PrestaShop 9 and Panda installed on a subdomain, catalog migrated.

Step 2

Modules

Sales by weight, pay in store and price list in PDF.

Step 3

Go-live

Switch to the main domain and check of the checkout process.

Step 4

Audits

Technical, back office, SEO, files and performance, then fixes.

The technical overview

Weight, not combinations.

The catalogue audit found weight combinations entered by hand with outlandish values, up to several tonnes, on dozens of product pages, enough to distort prices and statistics.

Sales by weight now go through a bounded "Weight in kg" field, calculated by the module, rather than a list of combinations that has to be maintained.

What made the difference

The audits were carried out on the live shop: pages served, public files, then the back office reviewed in read-only mode, without changing anything.

This is what made it possible to trace the origin of invisible failures, such as a payment method that vanished from the checkout or a domain misspelled in the database.

The tech stack

What keeps the shop running.
